Maternity Nursing
Calm, experienced support for those precious first weeks with your baby.
Bringing your baby home is an exciting and life-changing time, but the early days and weeks can also feel overwhelming. There is so much to learn, from feeding and settling to bathing, changing, sleep and understanding your baby’s cues. Having an experienced professional by your side can give you the reassurance, confidence and practical support you need to enjoy this special time.
At The Settled Baby, I provide personalised newborn care and maternity nursing support in the comfort of your own home. I can be there from your very first day at home with your baby, helping you find your feet, build confidence and settle into life as a new family. With over 25 years of experience caring for babies and young children, I offer calm, knowledgeable and practical support tailored to your individual needs.
Support doesn’t have to start from day one. You can also bring me in later if you find yourself struggling or simply need some extra help. Perhaps your baby is unsettled, you’re finding feeding or settling difficult, or you’re dealing with challenges such as colic or reflux and would value experienced support and reassurance. I can work alongside you to understand what is happening, support your baby’s care and help make those difficult days feel more manageable.
My support can include practical newborn care, feeding support, settling and sleep, establishing gentle first day and night routines, bathing and changing, and overnight care. My aim is not to take over, but to work alongside you — sharing my experience, building your confidence and giving you the practical help you need.
Flexible Support That Works Around You
I don’t offer the traditional full-time, live-in maternity nursing model. Instead, I offer flexible part-time support designed to fit around your family and your budget. Support is charged at £30ph, with a minimum booking of four hours, so you can choose the level of help that works best for you.
This could be regular daytime support for for the first few days/weeks after baby is born, or occasional overnight support to help you and your baby through the night. I offer temporary packages for families who need additional support for a shorter period or during a particularly challenging stage.
Whether you need support from the very beginning, a helping hand during the day, overnight care, or additional support when things become challenging, we can create a package that works for you and your family.
